Your journey at Tulane University begins with OISS Orientation! It is designed to help you:
- Adjust to academic and social life at Tulane;
- Comply with government regulations pertaining to your stay in the U.S;
- Learning about on and off campus resources and support services;
- Learn how to navigate the campus;
- Become comfortable with the local community and U.S. culture; and
- Meet people and make friends from around the world.
Studies show the benefits of participating in orientation programs. Faculty members and advisors see a marked difference in the preparedness and success of students who have participated in orientation.
Important information. If you are arriving in the country for the first time this academic year, you must complete OISS Online Orientation in order to complete your online iGlobal check-in.

OISS New International Student Orientation

During OISS New International Student Orientation, you will get an opportunity to meet our staff members and learn more about our office's services and events. We will discuss your immigration rights and responsibilities, and review the benefits that come with your international student status. You will learn tips for navigating the cultural adjustment period and we will review resources and information to help you thrive during your time here at Tulane. Light snacks and refreshments will be served during the break.

The tour will begin outside of the Office of International Students and Scholars. You will have the opportunity to meet Orientation Leaders as you tour the Uptown Campus. Feel free to bring your schedule to look up the buildings your classes will be in.
- Please wear weather-appropriate clothes and shoes.
- Water will be provided prior to departure. Please bring a reusable water bottle if you would like to take a large quantity with you.
- Light snacks will be served before the tour departs
- Family members are also welcome.
The tour will end at the Success Workshops.

Come learn about key information to help you succeed at Tulane! You will hear directly from a Tulane professor about what your faculty want you to know before you start your class. You will also hear from representatives from Campus Safety to talk about how you can stay safe in New Orleans and Tulane. Last, we will discuss academic integrity in the United States.
Connect Fest Social and Resource Fair

You are invited to come learn about many off-campus and on-campus resources to support you during your stay at Tulane University. Meet with other students and staff, learn about student groups and resources. If your student is still looking for a roommate, you will have the chance to meet others who are in the same situation. Food, refreshments, and festive environment included.
