Career Resources for International Students

Navigating career information can be challenging for international students in F-1 or J-1 status. We've consolidated some resources here to help you as you prepare to apply for internships or jobs after graduation.

Employment in F-1 Status: Find information on this page about employment rules for on campus and off campus employment, and for pre and post program completion.

Employment in J-1 Status: Find information on this page about employment rules for on campus and off campus employment, and for pre and post program completion.

ISAB Employment FAQ: The International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) has come up with frequently asked questions that we found peers asking and compiled them into five sections for your quick reference. The page includes general information on employment, how to answer employment authorization questions in a questionnaire, and more.

OISS International Student Employer List: This is a list of employers that have hired Tulane international students on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT.

Tulane Career Engagement Website: This is a page that features upcoming events, internships, and job opportunities available to Tulane students. They also have a page dedicated to international students and international alumni.

Handshake: Handshake is Tulane’s career management center and recruitment platform where full-time jobs, internships, fellowships, and student employment are listed. Handshake also features a comprehensive calendar of career- and employer-related events for the school year.

GoinGlobal: GoinGlobal helps job and internship seekers find opportunities both at home and abroad. Their website has career guides, webinars, and employer directories that you may find useful!

U.S. Department of Labor Condition Application (LCA) Data: On this page you can find a list of employers who have filed a LCA for either H-1B, H-1B1, or E-3 visa holders. This is helpful for international students to see what employers have sponsored people for H-1B in the past, so when they are looking for jobs they know who may be sponsoring in the future.

H-1B Employer Data Hub: Similar to the LCA resource, on this page you can find employers that have filed H-1B petitions in the past. Data can be queried by fiscal year, employer name, city, state, zip code, and NAICS code.
