International student success at Tulane University begins with OISS Orientation! It is designed to help you:
- Meet OISS staff and learn about university resources;
- Comply with government regulations pertaining to your stay in the U.S;
- Become comfortable with the local community and U.S. culture; and
- Meet people and make friends from around the world.
Studies show the benefits of participating in orientation programs. Faculty members and advisors see a marked difference in the preparedness and success of students who have participated in orientation.
All new F-1 undergraduate international students will follow the Hullaballoo Hello schedule. Here are the OISS programs that you will attend as part of the schedule!

International Student Orientation
Date: August 13th, 2025
Orientation: 3:30PM-5PM
Location: The Hub, Lake Hall Theater
During OISS orientation you will get to meet the staff of the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS). They will share important immigration information. They will also explain further opportunities and resources for you to be prepared to succeed academically and socially and learn about U.S. culture.
Before in-person orientation, please make sure you complete the OISS Online Orientation and mandatory iGlobal check-in.
