Fall 2025 End of Semester Reminders & Winter Break Hours

Greetings, 

As we start the final exam period, we would like to share a few end-of-semester considerations and reminders. 

We encourage international students to carry a copy of their I-94, I-20/DS-2019, and a scan of their passport at all times as evidence of their status. If you need a new I-20/DS-2019, you can request one on this page. 

If you are traveling over winter break, be sure to check that you have a valid travel signature on your I-20 or DS-2019. If your travel signature has expired, request a new one here. Please allow 3 to 5 business days for processing. Review our travel page for additional tips and information about traveling.

If the program end date on your document is in December 2025, be sure your immigration record matches your plans: 

  • If you are an F-1 student and need more time to complete your studies, submit an extension application.
  • If you are interested in Post-Completion OPT (F-1 Students), visit our website to learn about the application process.
  • If you are a J-1 student and you need additional time to complete your studies or you are interested in Academic Training, email us at oiss@tulane.edu.

Winter Break Hours 

The Office of International Students and Scholars will be open for normal business hours from Monday, December 8, to Tuesday, December 23. OISS will be closed for Winter Recess from Wednesday, December 24, through Friday, January 2. We will reopen on Monday, January 5. 

During the closure, we will not process any document requests or respond to emails. If you have a document request (e.g. travel signature, OPT I-20 request, extension request, etc.), you should submit the request early to allow for processing time.
