COVID Immigration Updates Related to Travel

Please be aware that it is important to continue following all Tulane University,  New Orleans and State COVID regulations.  Violating current public health regulations can have negative consequences for your immigration status.  Below are some COVID related changes that the Biden Administration has recently made.  More information can be found here.

  1. On January 12, 2021, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) stated that CDC has issued "an Order requiring all air passengers arriving to the US from a foreign country to get tested no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to provide proof of the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight." This Order went into effect on January 26, 2021. More information here.
  2. President Biden's Proclamation 10143 of January 25, 2021 continues the 14-day U.S. entry restrictions on individuals who were recently present in the Schengen Area, UK, Ireland, Brazil, China or Iran, and, effective January 30, 2021, adds South Africa to the list of countries.  More information here.

Please note OISS does not recommend international travel at this time for students and scholars who are already in the US. If you are an international student or scholar considering international travel at this time, please review the OISS Travel During COVID-19 website, especially the Fragomen resource, and speak to an OISS advisor so that you can learn the potential consequences.
