OISS Winter Weather Closure 

Per the announcement from President Fitts, the university and OISS will operate remotely on Tuesday, January 21 due to the winter weather in the New Orleans area. If you have an in-person appointment, please connect with your OISS advisor to discuss switching to virtual. 

Depending on weather conditions, OISS will reopen on Wednesday, January 22. Please pay close attention to our website and Instagram for updates.

Emma Tong

Biography

Emma Tong is a senior majoring in finance and legal studies. She is a very engaged student on campus. She was a global ambassador and a board member of the International Student Advisory Board.

She was going to study abroad in China 2020 spring semester. However, due to the pandemic, the program was canceled. She spent the gap semester studying for her upcoming GRE and CFA exams and interned at a consulting company. For this upcoming semester, she will do her study-abroad program at Peking University, one of the most well-known universities in China. She is also taking some capstone classes with Freeman Business School faculties to fulfill her senior year requirements. Thanks to the help of the business school's study abroad counselors, OISS staff, and TU Recreation Center's managers, Emma was able to make plans accordingly.

"For the rest of 2020, I would like to try to slow down and stop myself from rushing into things. Many factors are out of our control right now, so I would rather think through everything before making any decisions."
